lots of exciting things on my yoga agenda.
thanks to amy for leading a beautiful class. you can catch amy on her yoga blog– the coolest one on the block here in miami beach. I’m highly obsessed with her: How to Look like a Miami Local In Yoga Class Post. or peruse her brand new company at: www.purdyave.com, if you’re local, support amy & buy some swag.
super excited for the brihony smith workshop at green monkey- I picked the inverted backbend practice. this is really where my practice could use the most amount of improvement. I felt strong today, held handstand for about 5 seconds not quite near my goal of 30. and I was able to come into a controlled forearm balance with no wall- making strides. remember, setting goals is the most important thing you can do. It helped re-establish the love for my yoga practice. we are stuck in a world of instant gratification- if we can’t have what we want we throw a fit, boredom sets in, we get over it, & move onto our next objective. I felt stuck in a rut in my own practice but I was nowhere near advanced. Setting some realistic goals that just needed me to put a little extra time & patience into was just what I needed- Now I can’t wait to hit my mat everyday. phew- that was a close call, I am a “yogi” after all. not that I’m sure I could even really define that….on another note. cant wait to see what they have in store for us. not sure who she is ? check out the sickest video I’ve ever seen: here.
last but not least, save the date! lululemon miami beach showroom is hosting a runway show at niki beach on Saturday May 17th.
